By using our mobile app or website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. About Stash Box

Stash Box is an online platform started by Swarupa Rani and Samatha Rani that allows users to:

  • Rent items to and from other users
  • Sell new, preloved, or handmade products

We focus on intra-state renting and selling to keep the process simpler for small businesses and individual sellers.

2. Eligibility

To use Stash Box, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Agree to follow local laws and platform policies

If you register as a seller, you confirm that:

  • Sell with Enrolment ID / UIN, if your total sales within Telangana (across all channels) are under ₹20 lakh per year, you don't need a GSTIN to rent or sell on StashBox
  • Sell with GSTIN, if your Total sales are above ₹20 lakh per year.

3. User Accounts

  • Keep your login credentials secure.
  • You're responsible for any activity under your account.
  • Stash Box can suspend or close accounts if we detect misuse, illegal activity, or violation of these terms.

4. Rentals & Sales

  • Stash Box provides a platform; we do not own items listed by users.
  • Users must accurately describe the condition, price, and rental terms of their items.

5. Damage, Loss & Security Deposit

When you rent an item through Stash Box, you required to pay a refundable security deposit as specified in the listing.

  • The renter must take reasonable care of all rented items and return them in the same condition as received.
  • If an item is returned damaged, broken, or missing parts, or if it is lost or stolen during the rental period, the cost of repair or replacement (as reasonably determined by the owner) will be deducted from the security deposit.
  • If the cost of damage or loss exceeds the security deposit, the renter agrees to pay the remaining balance to the item owner.
  • The remaining deposit amount, if any, will be refunded to the renter after the item is returned and inspected by the owner.
  • Disputes about damage or loss will be handled fairly and Stash Box assists in mediating if required, but final responsibility lies with the renter.

5. Seller Responsibilities

  • List only items you own and have the right to rent or sell.
  • Clearly describe your products and rental terms.
  • Ensure items are safe and in usable condition.

6. Payments & Fees

  • Stash Box collects commission on each transaction.
  • Payment processing is handled securely via trusted payment partners.
  • Users agree to pay all applicable fees shown at checkout.

7. Prohibited Items

You must not list:

  • Illegal, counterfeit, or stolen items
  • Items that violate intellectual property rights
  • Hazardous, expired, or unsafe goods

8. Limitation of Liability

  • Stash Box is a platform connecting users; we don't guarantee the condition, availability.
  • We are not responsible for direct or indirect damages from using our platform, except where required by law.

9. Valuable and Precious Items – Prohibited

For the safety of our users and to reduce risk, you must not list any valuable or precious items on Stash Box, including but not limited to:

  • Gold, silver, platinum, or any other precious metals
  • Precious or semi precious gemstones
  • High value branded luxury goods or collectibles
  • Items with significant sentimental, historical, or irreplaceable value

Stash Box is designed for renting and reselling everyday items, creative handmade items, and household products. Listing of precious, highly valuable, or irreplaceable items is strictly prohibited, and doing so may result in removal of the listing or suspension of your account.

10. Electronics – Restrictions

To reduce risk of damage, misuse, and disputes, the listing of certain electronic items (e.g., laptops, smartphones, tablets, cameras, smart watches, and similar portable electronics) is not allowed on Stash Box.

Users must also avoid listing items containing personal data, software licenses, or items that could compromise privacy or data security.

Stash Box may remove these listings if found, and is not liable for any data loss, damage, or disputes arising from electronic items listed in violation of this policy.

11. Furniture – Restrictions

Due to transportation, wear & tear, and risk of damage, Stash Box does not allow large furniture items such as:

  • Sofas, beds, wardrobes, large tables, or heavy storage units

Small, portable, or decorative furniture pieces (e.g., stools, side tables, small shelves) may be allowed if:

  • Clearly described with dimensions and condition
  • In good, clean, usable condition

Stash Box reserves the right to remove listings that do not comply or pose logistic challenges.

12. Privacy

We respect your privacy. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your data.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. We'll notify users of major changes, but continued use of Stash Box means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of India.

Any disputes, claims, or legal proceedings arising out of or relating to Stash Box, its services, or these Terms & Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Hyderabad, Telangana.

Terms and Conditions for Sellers

By listing your items on Stash Box, you agree to the following fee and tax structure:

  • Platform Fee:
    Stash Box charges a service fee of 35% on the profit earned from each successful rental or sale.
    • This fee is subject to GST at applicable rates, which will be added on top of the platform fee.
    • The platform fee plus GST is automatically deducted from your earnings before payout.
  • TCS (Tax Collected at Source):
    As per GST regulations for e‑commerce operators:
    • Stash Box collects 1% TCS under Section 52 of the CGST Act on the net value of taxable supplies made by each seller.
    • This amount is deposited to the government under the seller’s PAN.
    • GST‑registered sellers can claim credit of this TCS in their GST returns.
  • GST Support for Registered Sellers:
    • For sellers who are GST‑registered, Stash Box will apply and provide 18% GST on the total sale value.
  • Payouts:
    Sellers will receive the net earnings after deducting:
    • Platform fee + GST on platform fee
    • 1% TCS
    • Delivery Charges                                                                                                                                                                                         
    • Payouts will be made to the seller’s registered bank account as per Stash Box’s standard settlement cycle(3 to 7days after received your product and confirming 

Payment Timeline:
After the rented product is returned to us in acceptable condition (as per our quality check policy), we will release the seller’s share of rental income within 3 to 7 business days from the date of return processing.

Note:

  • Payment will be made only after successful quality inspection of the returned product.
  • In case of any damage, missing parts, or excessive wear & tear beyond normal usage, the platform reserves the right to withhold part or full payment to cover repair or replacement costs, as per the damage policy.
  • All payments will be transferred to the seller’s registered bank account after deduction of applicable platform charges, GST (if applicable), and TCS.

 

 

 

 

 

Terms and Conditions for Buyers-

Return Condition:
Buyers must return rented products in the same good and usable condition in which they were received, without any damage, loss, stains, or excessive wear and tear.

Damage / Loss:

  • In case of any damage, missing parts, or loss of the product, the buyer will be liable to pay the actual cost of repair, cleaning, or replacement as determined by the platform.

Timely Return:

  • Buyers must return the product on or before the agreed return date as per the order.
  • If the product is not returned on time, the buyer will be charged as per the rental period cost which is mentioned by seller on the platform.

Non-Return:

  • If the buyer fails to return the product within the extended period communicated by the platform, the buyer agrees to pay the full replacement cost of the product.

Refundable Security Deposit

  • At the time of booking or placing an order, the buyer shall pay a refundable security deposit, the amount of which will be specified on the product page or order summary.
  • This deposit is collected to cover potential damage, loss, late return charges, or excessive wear and tear.
  • After the product is returned on time and passes the quality check (i.e., no damage, loss, or late return), the full security deposit will be refunded to the buyer’s original payment method or wallet within 3–7 business days.
  • In case of damage, loss, or late return, the applicable cost or penalty will be deducted from the security deposit, and the balance amount (if any) will be refunded.
  • If the charges exceed the deposit amount, the buyer agrees to pay the remaining balance separately upon request.

User Conduct & Compliance

By using our platform, you agree that you will:

  • Provide accurate, truthful information.
  • Not engage in any fraudulent, deceptive, or illegal activities.
  • Not attempt to cheat, misuse, or abuse the platform, its policies, other users, or the products rented or sold.

Any violation of this condition may lead to suspension or termination of your account and legal action if required.
